Most of the more expensive pens disappoint. Now my immediate focus is on any pen with a 'fude' nib. I also use a lot of gel pens but wouldn't say I 'collected' them. Much as I would love to test drive/own some of the high end pens available, it's just not feasible yet. Aside from that, I have a variety of pens: Asian fountain, Sakura Microns, various Sharpies, gel pens, etc. Waiting for some dip pens to arrive in the mail, too. I'm fascinated with Parkers, really, since my first FP is a Parker, but what drives me 'giggly' (drooling, excited, agitated) as how TAO puts it, is the sight (or thought) of white fountain pens. I got 6 white FPs now, and I'm sure I'll get more in the future. I own a Black Celluloid, the 823 clear demonstrator, the Custom 74 clear demonstrator, a Falcon II metallic, and a very slim Cavalier. My collection started ten years ago as a random effort based on what I could afford. Then it shifted to fun nibs, ones that make writing interesting. After a year or two I scrapped each one and started in on something new. Now I just get what makes me happy and kinda semi-focus on Sheaffer Snorkels. I don't really want every model or variation, I just want ones that make me feel like giggling. I don't actually giggle but that's the feeling.
