For months I updated this blog at least 5 days a week as if I had some unending fountain of words from which to draw on. After taking a month off for NaNoWriMo, I find it almost impossible to think of things to write. And so, I’ve moved the Question of the Week to Monday for now. I figure that’ll give me something easy to come up with on the worst day of the week.
Those of us who are pen fanatics tend to accumulate pens. You might not consider yourself a collector one day and the next, you realize that you’re surrounded with <insert pen type here>. For me, I’ve mainly focused on Sheaffers with a minor interest in Parkers. I’m no collector and I’ve been quick to sell off pens when I feel like spending money on something else, but that’s not the point of this.
Take a look at your pen collections, what do you see? Maybe you collect fountain pens of random types, maybe you’re a gel pen fanatic, maybe you are one of the crazy souls who simply must have every color that the Sheaffer No Nonsense came in?
Now that you’ve figured out what you are, direct yourself to the comment box and share with us. We’ll all understand your crazy obsession, trust me, we’re all family here.

I don’t know about you, but 99.5% of my time spent in front of a piece of paper, I’m holding a pen. Very rarely do I bother with pencils unless I’m attempting to sketch something which is quite rare.
It seems like there’s a lot of people quite dedicated to the use of pen just as I am but surely there are those wild and crazy folk who would rather hoist graphite than pen?
Feel free to admit your love for pencils or go ahead and tell us that you never use them.

Here’s a question I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I’ve come across bloggers who hand write their entire blog post before typing it into the computer. I’ve also found many examples of other types of work that people prefer to write out by hand before entering into the computer. Let’s face it, we live in a computer age and most of what we write for the consumption of others ends up on a computer.
So this question is for those of you who write for the public eye, be it a blog or simply a report for work; do you hand write it first? How do you feel it helps your process? Is it simply therapeutic or do you feel it brings out better writing? Are you more apt to keep it simple? Or perhaps it just lets you get your first draft out at a leisurely pace which helps keep the re-writes to a minimum.
Hit the comments and share! I’m very interested in the responses as my blog posts tend to come straight from my mind to the keyboard. I don’t think I have the patience to handwrite all the words that want to tumble from my fingertips.

I’m pretty sure everyone who reads this blog uses their stash of notebooks and pens for different reasons. What do you use yours for?
School notes?
Journaling?
Scribbling notes about your day?
Notes for an upcoming story or perhaps you even handwrite your stories in them?
Maybe something else? Hit the comments and tell us what you like to write about most!

If you’re reading this blog, you probably have a LOT of writing utensils. Some of us prefer pens, some prefer pencils, and we all have that one favorite instrument that we can’t help but keep near us at all times.
So what’s yours? Maybe you don’t like to play favorites but I bet deep down in your brain, you have a favorite. But if you can’t pick one, at least tell us if it’s a fountain pen, a gel pen, or a pencil.

I hate to use the word “fetish” but hey, that’s probably accurate. Those of us with this fetish find notebooks and paper to be irresistible. When we walk past the stationary aisle of a store, we inevitably stop and check out what they have to offer. I find myself doing this even at places I know only sell low end products just in case I find something I haven’t seen before.
This fetish leads to book shelves or drawers full of empty notebooks waiting to be used. Some are still wrapped in cellophane, some we’ve tried out and found unacceptable and just tossed back on the shelf, and the truly crazy among us have stacks of the same brand of notebook that we keep buying “just in case” they stop making them.
So now’s your chance to come out and admit you have a paper problem. How many unused notebooks do you have? How many reams of paper stacked up on a shelf? How often do you buy a new notebook knowing full well that you have 10 more at home that need to be used first?
I guess that’s more than one question, but I think they’re all technically the same question. Hit the comment box and tell us about your addiction, I promise you won’t be judged, you’re in good company.

There’s been a lot of discussion on the death of cursive lately. In fact, here’s an article on that very subject from Yahoo News.
So of course the question of the week is; “Do you still use cursive and how often?”

It’s Thursday and you know what that means? It’s time for Question of the Week!
Ok I made that feature up just now but I kind of like it so let’s see how it goes!
This week the question is: Do you send or receive any handwritten correspondence?
My answer: Nope! I think the last thing I received that was handwritten was a Thank You card and I don’t count those. Anything you’re practically forced to write shouldn’t count.
Maybe that’s too harsh, I should appreciate that the sender write anything at all. And the last time I sent anything handwritten… I can’t even remember. Sad when you think about it, I have pens and ink galore and I’m keeping it all to myself.
Ok, it’s called “question of the week” so you get to hit the comment box below and give me your answers!
Question of the Week Rules and Regulations
- You MUST talk about QOTW (blog it, twitter it, tell your friends!)
- You MUST talk about QOTW.
- If this is your first QOTW, you have to answer.
